Well that's what the dive centre man come embassy official come local told us........... So after our visit to his shop off we trundled to phaeng waterfall!!
When I say trundled I mean took a 600 baht taxi ride, hiked up the 400m jungle hill side to find the 'grandest' waterfall in phanGan..........which was unfortunately more of a trickle come stream!! Still good exercise for a couple of beach bums!!
Rather more exciting news is laura dropped her guard and was coerced into booking another trip on what she calls the 'boat of death' following a scary voyage during her last trip to thailand. The boat travels from koh phangan to koh tao (divers paradise) . Mike's powers of persuasion were aided by some rather stunning cognitive behavioural techniques employed by the sales guy!!
unfortunately those techniques of persuasion were short lived and I'm watching laura increasingly regret her decision to once again brave the boat of death.
On the flip side our next leg is all sorted with taxi to ferry to hotel and Laura's open water Padi lessons all neatly tied up in the one package!! Very excited at the thought of diving once again and having laura alongside. I have booked to dive with her for her open water assessments and hopefully this will be the first dives of many together during this trip.
Bed is calling as we have an early pick up from resort at 7 am which is usually when we are falling asleep with this ongoing jet lag!!
Bye bye fat dog mali and the beautiful resort of sarikantang............
